The Gold Coast is renowned for its stunning white beaches, warm summers, and impressive skyscrapers. If you're planning a summer holiday trip, ensure you explore the plethora of attractions available.
If seeking tranquility, discover serene spots to unwind with your favorite book. For a beach outing, consider visiting Burleigh Heads, a cherished location within the Gold Coast known for its unique atmosphere. The area boasts a surf club with a diner, providing a convenient spot to grab a quick meal while immersing yourself in Australia's surfing culture. Even if surfing isn't on your agenda, indulging in the beaches and local cuisine will offer a sense of contentment amidst some of the world's most beautiful coastal settings.
Burleigh Heads is esteemed as one of the top surfing beaches in the region due to its sandy ocean floor and consistent southeasterly breezes. A brief ascent up the cliff at Burleigh Heads National Park offers breathtaking views extending along the coastline towards the north. Shaded by Norfolk Island Pines, this vantage point offers an ideal setting for a leisurely lunch accompanied by refreshing sea breezes – perhaps even trying your hand at surfing!
The beach at Burleigh Heads is safeguarded by Surf Lifesavers daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM throughout the year. Positioned between Surfers Paradise in the north and Coolangatta to the south, Burleigh Heads is an excellent starting point for an extended beachfront stroll while taking in captivating sea vistas and observing surf-related activities.

Even on days when other coastal areas are turbulent, Burleigh National Park serves as a sheltered sanctuary for swimming enthusiasts. With ocean views on one side and various walking trails teeming with wildlife on another, visitors can relish nature's beauty within this natural reserve.
The lush Burleigh foreshore features towering pine trees and ample picnic spots where visitors can savor outdoor meals or barbecues against an ocean backdrop. This locale also hosts regular art and craft markets along the foreshore complemented by seaside strolls – offering fresh oceanfront dining experiences amid a vibrant café culture.
Venturing inland towards West Burleigh unveils an industrial park boasting diverse shopping options and delectable dining venues. For those seeking adventure, there are numerous activities catering to all tastes across the Gold Coast like embarking on an Aquaduck tour – combining bus and boat travel seamlessly for an entertaining journey through Surfers Paradise and beyond to explore iconic coastal landmarks such as Palazzo Versace and Sheraton Mirage before cruising into Broadwater at The Spit.
The Aquaduck offers harbor cruising tours that provide views of Seaworld, Marina Mirage, Australia Fair, Mariners Cove, The Yacht Club, luxurious homes, canals, and more by transforming from a vehicle into a boat. Tours are available daily at various times starting from 10am at the duck desk on 36 Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise. During peak season, a 9am tour is also an option.
Tours depart daily at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm, 3pm, 4.15pm and 5.30pm

HOW TO GET TO THE GOLD COAST

Depending on your destination and airline, you can travel straight to Gold Coast airport. If you are not able to find a flight that will go direct, you can travel from Brisbane airport which takes about over an hours drive straight. If you want to avoid the traffic altogether, you can take a train which may cut out the prices of taxis and distance times.
